Well, it took some convincing from one of my long time musical collaborators, but this evening I dropped the coin on purchasing a new Digital Audio Workstation suite. I spent 3 hours writing and demoing a new song with Neil Mabry on Saturday at is home studio dubbed cleverly, “Depression Chamber Studio.“
Apart from being really good to get a solid co-writing session in for the first time in over a decade, it was really cool seeing how Neil was able to pretty much handle all the needed duties of recording, quanitizing my already near perfectly timed performance and comping sections together for a test arrangement of the demo. It was pretty sweet for audiofile geeks like myself. So, today I loaded the demo and after seeing how incredible stable and lightweight the suite is, I pulled the trigger on purchasing it.
The song itself is really promising and quite different from anything I’ve written in a while. Neil and I haven’t written together in quite some time and I’m thankful we got to birth another tune. I have high regard for our co-writes. It’s called, “The Easy Way.” I hope to have it ready to share very soon.
